I'm still here

Helloooooo! It's been a while (a lot longer than I would've liked) but alas, here I am. I haven't kept up well with the blog as I would've liked, and I'm not sure I have a good enough excuse as to why, but really - who do I owe any excuses to? Life gets busy sometimes and the days seem to pass us by. I feel like I blinked and Summer was over! My favourite season - come and gone. I had a lot of hope and expectations for my blog this Summer to document all my fun and adventures, but like I said; life gets busy and things get in the way. Often times I needed reminding to take it easy and slow down and I think that's why I wasn't so present here, because I was busy being present elsewhere. Not worrying about creating content, taking photos or writing things out, it was relaxing to say the least and felt good to take a break.

As of today, I am unemployed! Not by choice, but that's just how life goes. I finished up a contract position at a company I worked at for over two years and now it's time to move onto other things and new experiences. I'm not quite sure what the future holds for me yet, but I'm optimistic and excited to see what happens. Growing up you're always plagued with the question of "What do you want to do or be?" and frankly, I hate being asked that. I feel like I always have to live up to other peoples expectations when they ask me that, but I'm the type of person whose most happy in a secure position or in an atmosphere that allows me time to pursue creative avenues on the side and try to figure out where I'm meant to be / what I'm meant to be. My previous job allowed me to do that and I can say it did help me figure myself out and shape who I am.

I'm excited for what the future holds and am looking forward to pursuing *magic* and discovering new interests and hobbies! I want to utilize my time off to fuel my creativity and write more about things I love (beauty, life, fashion etc.) and put more energy into the blog, without getting too overwhelmed or exhausted. In the past, this medium has given me so much joy to work on and I'm looking forward to finding that joy again.

I found these "words of wisdom" on Pinterest and thought they were appropriate to portray my current thoughts and feelings about my situation right now and life going forward. Cheers to new beginnings!
